Crashing chords

The pitfalls of moving a piano has been the basis of countless jokes and sketch shows.

But it was no laughing matter when top Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt’s beloved £150,000 piano was recently smashed by movers.

She mourned the 590kg instrument as “her best friend” but was glad no one was hurt.

Those movers will be in a load of treble.
