We turned up heat on fuel giant

-

Peter Goodman is £90 better off after contacting Raw Deal about a dispute he was having with his energy company after he switched to a new supplier.

It took Peter, from Wishaw, North Lanarkshire, three months to get out of his contract with Scottishpower in December.

He believed that when he left the company his account was in credit by £241 – and he wanted the money back.

“Instead Scottishpower sent me the wrong final bills and stated that my final credit was just £157,” he said. “They had even charged me an amount for using gas, and I don’t even use gas, so I don’t know how they managed to come up with that one.”

Peter said that just before

Christmas he spent 45 minutes on the phone to the company to try to resolve the issue but with no joy.

“They were supposed to call me back but they didn’t,” he said. “Instead they just sent me out another wrong final bill. The whole situation was very frustrating for me.”

At the end of his tether, Peter wrote to Raw Deal.

We asked Scottishpower to investigate and the matter was soon resolved.

On top of the £157 the company originally said he was owed, they added a further £90.

Peter now has the £247 safely in his bank, and he said: “Thanks to Raw Deal for all your help.

“I am sure they would have kept messing me around, especially having since read on the internet that many other people are facing the same issues with this company.”
