Governing body roll the dice in the hope of avoiding fixture chaos for Rangers

-

The SPFL yesterday decided to take a high-risk gamble on beating Mother Nature.

After Storm Dennis led to Ibrox failing a 12.30pm pitch inspection, the ruling body insisted that every effort should be made to play Rangers’ game against Livingston today.

With the Light Blues already having a home match against St Johnstone to fit into a hectic schedule, there is real potential for fixture chaos.

Bu t wi t h m o re ra i n f o re c a s t , t h e re is no guarantee the sodden pitch will recover in time for today’s 3pm kick-off.

Livingston were less than pleased, having had their request to play the game tomorrow night thrown out by the SPFL.

And Thursday’s Europa League opponents, Braga, also voiced their concerns over the Ibrox pitch.
