THE SCOTTS MAGAZINE

-

As you know, one of the things we’re keen to do at The Scots Magazine is encourage readers to get out and enjoy our wonderful country.

You’ll find loads of inspiration in this issue for fantastic activities packed with family fun – from exploring castles in Dumfries and Galloway, to marvelling at the wonders of the night sky in the Hebrides, or even catching a movie at the Glasgow Film Festival. One of the greatest resources we have as a country is our incredible landscape and the opportunity it affords for leisure activities.

Of course, February is a bit of a funny month. The days are still short. The weather is mostly minging and can put many people off an outdoor adventure. But that shouldn’t be the case – as our outdoor writers Fiona Russell and Nick Drainey demonstrate.

This month, Fi suggests trying out a really big adventure – back country skiing through the Cairngorms, while Nick provides advice for those wishing to attempt their first ever winter hill. Enjoy.
