We may be restricted in where, and when, we can travel at the moment so it is the perfect time to think about your future touring plans
WITH Covid forcing people to stay at home as much as possible, cancel trips and restrict travel when it is not an absolute necessity, the world can feel very small at times.
There will come a time, however, when travel will once again not only be allowed, but encouraged. And, even though we cannot know for sure when stress-free post-covid travel will be, or what it will be like, now is the time to remain optimistic and make plans for your next adventure.
Hotels, B&BS, ferries and coaches are already taking extra health and safety precautions, with an aim of putting staff and travellers at ease.
Coach companies across the country are following the Government guidelines of social distancing and mandatory face coverings, as well as implementing their own measures, including additional internal and external cleaning. Signs have been added to coach entrances and seats to highlight new capacity numbers, and certain areas have been taped, stating where passengers should and shouldn’t sit in order to remain physically distances from one another.
Its natural beauty and clean, fresh air means travelling in Scotland’s countryside can make a huge difference to your psyche. And, while travelling any great distance may be off the cards for the remainder of the year, Scotland’s enticing natural and historical assets will always be there. Look forward to exploring its vast landscapes of glens and lochs, mesmerising coastal seascapes and awe-inspiring landmarks via bus, coach, ferry or plane.
On travelling within Scotland, the Scottish Government says: “Your experience using commercial services is changing due to coronavirus and continues to evolve as we learn more about the virus.
“Businesses within the tourism and hospitality sector, following government guidance, are working to ensure the safety of customers and colleagues.
“This good work is supported with relevant guidelines from trade bodies and wider industry, but the successful return to and ongoing operation of business will be highly dependent on positive customer behaviours – you are the first line of defence against coronavirus.”
If you stick to the guidelines introduced by the Scottish Government, and by businesses operating in the touring, transport and tourism sectors, we will all soon be able to enjoy all that glorious Scotland has to offer once again.
