EURO ROUND-UP

-

An empty Nou Camp Stadium gave out an eerie feeling as REAL MADRID beat hosts BARCELONA in an entertaining El Clasico to go to the top of La Liga.

Real were first to score after just five minutes when Federico Valverde smashed them into the lead from Karim Benzema’s pass.

Three minutes on, it was all square as Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati – just 17 – levelled from Jordi Alba’s cross, becoming the youngest goalscorer in El Clasico history.

On 63 minutes, Sergio Ramos (below, celebrating at the end) put the visitors in front, scoring from a penalty after he was fouled by Clement Lenglet, before Luka Modric smashed in a 90th-minute third.

Barcelona now sit 12th in the table.

■ BAYERN MUNICH striker Robert Lewandowski became the first player to have scored 10 Bundesliga goals in the opening five rounds of games as he hit a hat-trick in a comfortable 5-0 win over EINTRACHT FRANKFURT.

The Pole opened the scoring after 10 minutes before heading a second and then netting from Douglas Costa’s pass.

Leroy Sane and Jamal Musiala were also on target as Bayern became the first team to score 22 goals after five Bundesliga games.

England U-17 international Musiala, 17, is only the seventh player to score more than one Bundesliga goal before his 18th birthday.

Bayern move onto 12 points, one behind leaders RB LEIPZIG, who beat HERTHA BERLIN 2-1.

AJAX set a new Eredivisie record with a 13-0 away win at 10-man VVV-VENLO.

Lassina Traore scored five goals as the Amsterdam club shrugged off their midweek Champions League defeat by Liverpool to move back top of the table.

Venlo were reduced to 10 men by a red card while the score was 4-0. From there, Ajax went on the rampage.

Their tally bettered their own previous record 12-1 league victory over Vitesse in May, 1972.
