Screen time is my scream time

You probably know by now that gadgets that do our thinking for us are one of my pet peeves.

Well, apparently we have now become so obsessed with smartphones that Google has created an app to warn users they’re about to bump into someone. The new application, called Heads Up, displays warnings such as “look up” and “watch out” if the user is moving while their screen is active, helping to avoid mid-pavement collisions.

I’m just as guilty as anyone for checking a text as soon as my phone pings, but it drives me mad to see so many smartphone zombies glued to their phones. You would think we’d have had enough of screens over the past year…
