Churchis indecline
The Kirk’s leading minister has warned that the dramatic fall in numbers of young people attending church is “nothing short of catastrophic”.
The Rt Rev Dr Martin Fair, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, said churches needed to ask themselves what they were doing to attract youngsters or new worshippers.
Dr Fair said numbers had been declining for 60 years and as people returned to the pews “it can’t be the same as it was”.
