Brechin title race back on – Loudon clear!

BRECHIN keep their title hopes alive with a crucial 2-0 away win against BRORA at Dudgeon Park.

Ewan Loudon followed up on his goal against Fort William by netting the opener midway through the first half with a strike from the edge of the box. Loudon it was in 58 minutes for his second goal with an unstoppabl­e shot.

League leaders FRASERBURG­H left Christie Park, HUNTLY, with an important three points after a 2-1 win. Bryan Hay and Sean Butcher got their goals, with Andy Hunter netting for Huntly.

Just one goal separated CLACHNACUD­DIN and visitors KEITH. Defences were largely on top, but, just when it looked like this one was destined to end in stalemate, Matthew Tough popped up in the 79th minute with the winner for the Maroons.

STRATHSPEY THISTLE and DEVERONVAL­E couldn’t be separated. New arrival Kyle Mackillop-hall put the visitors in front in the 43rd minute when a mix-up left the winger to curl a 25- yarder into the gaping goal. Kris Duncan levelled for the Jags in the 90th minute when he drilled past Mcintosh from 10 yards.

Cole Anderson scored for FORMARTINE UNITED as they went down 3-1 at home to INVERURIE LOCOS. Kieran Shanks and Robert Ward (2) were the Locos scorers.

WICK’S impressive run of victories was ended by ROTHES 2-1. Danny Mckay opened for Wick and was later sent off, but Ryan Mcritchie and Jack Brown won it for Rothes.

LOSSIEMOUT­H won 2-1 at home to TURRIFF UTD with goals from Connor Macaulay and Ryan Sewell. Keir Smith netted a late penalty for basement battlers Turriff.

NAIRN twice came from behind to win 3-2 at FORRES MECHANICS. Forres marksmen were Lee Fraser and Paul Brindle, but Nairn won it thanks to counters from Fraser Dingwall, Glenn Main and Ciaran Young.

BUCKIE THISTLE returned from FORT WILLIAM with a 4-1 victory. Sam Urquhart (2, 1 pen), Max Barry and Jack Murray got their goals, with Abdullah Ahmed equalising at one stage for Fort William.
