BERWICK RANGERS were rocked by HILL OF BEATH in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup, with the lower league Fife side romping to a 4-2 win. The Haws were two up after 15 minutes with strikes from Lyle Kellichan and Ryan Connelly. Lewis Baker pulled one back in 31 minutes and Callum Adamson made it 3-1 before Elder struck a second for Berwick. The Haws always looked dangerous and Ryan Connelly killed off the border side with a fourth in 68 minutes.

SAUCHIE’S great fightback against BO’NESS UNITED ended in disappoint­ment when they lost 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out. Bo’ness opened early on from close range through Jamie Mccormack, then an outrageous lob from Keir Mcaulay made it 2-0 in 51 minutes. Sauchie’s Ross Kavanagh pulled one back in 55 minutes and a Jack Docherty equaliser in 75 minutes took the tie to a goalless extra time, and Bo’ness won on penalties.

BONNYRIGG ROSE overcame TRANENT 2-0. For Rose’s first goa, the Tranent goalie’s clearance rebounded off George Hunter and into the net, but had no chance with Hunter’s second just on half-time.

PENICUIK were beaten 5-0 by a rampant

LINLITHGOW ROSE. Mark Stowe gave the home side an early lead and Connor Mckenzie made it two before Stowe hit the bar from a penalty. Callum Bremner added a third in 48 minutes, then Stowe made up for his earlier miss when he converted a second spotkick in 66 minutes. Alan Sneddon netted No. 5 in 78 minutes.

KINNOULL are through to the next round following a hard fought 1-0 win over fellow-conference B side PRESTON ATHLETIC.

LEITH ATHLETIC and HADDINGTON were involved in a dour goalless 90 minutes, the only highlight being a red card to Haddington’s Cammy Watson. After no goals in extra time, Haddington won through after a penatly shoot-out.

In the Premier League, CROSSGATES PRIMROSE beat MUSSELBURG­H 3-2, but had to come from behind after Musselburg­h cancelled out Brain Ritchie’s penalty for the Fifers with goals from Josh Jeffries and Darren Downie. The Fifers levelled through Mark Mckenzie in 72 minutes, then Mckenzie struck the winner with a minute to go.

CAMELON picked up the points with a 2-1 win over TYNECASTLE FC, with Kieran Anderson and Darren Gribben netting the Mariners goals.
