Broch go nap with finishes from close in

-

League leaders FRASERBURGH completed an impressive double over DEVERONVALE to maintain their position at the top.

It was 1-0 after 37 minutes when Aiden Combe netted and, not long after, Paul Young doubled the score, again from close range. Two quick goals midway through the second half from Scott Barbour and Lewis Duncan made it 4-0 and, late on, substitute Gary Harris completed the theme of close-range finishes.

Fresh from a big win over fellowtitle hopefuls Brora Rangers in midweek, BUCKIE THISTLE got their noses in front against hosts WICK ACADEMY through Max Barry in 19 minutes. Second-half goals from centre-half Lewis Mackinnon, Sam Urquhart and Andy Macaskill sealed a 4-0 win.

BRECHIN CITY beat hosts STRATHSPEY THISTLE 3-1. Ewan Loudon headed them into a ninthminute lead, but Ross Fraser levelled before Roj Donaldson saved a penalty from Marc Scott in 50 minutes. But, 12 minutes later, Loudon scored his and his team’s second to restore the lead, then David Cox hammered home No. 3.

BRORA RANGERS hammered visiting LOSSIEMOUTH 7-0 with Jordan Macrae getting a hattrick (one a penalty), with others coming from Martin Maclean, Dale Gillespie (pen), Josh Meekings and Tony Dingwall.

Hosts ROTHES scored the only goal of the game against FORRES MECHANICSCAME right at the end through Greg Morrison.

FORMARTINE UTD saw little resistance from KEITH and cruised to a 4-0 victory with goals from Johnny Smith, Scott Lisle (2) and Aaron Norris.

CLACHNACUDDIN beat visiting NAIRN COUNTY 2-1. Kieran Chalmers put Clach ahead, but Fraser Dingwall equalised for the Wee County soon after, but James Anderson scored his 22nd of the season for the Lilywhites.

After a goalless first half, there was a blow for HUNTLY against INVERURIE early in the second half when keeper Euan Storrier was concussed in a challenge. The opening goal came in the 70th minute through ex-loco Andy Hunter, but Locos replied soon after with a Ross Still header.
