PENICUIK are back on top of the Premier League after a hard fought 2-1 win at CROSSGATES. The Cuikie took the lead through Cammy Dawson in 24 minutes, but the hosts levelled through Brian Ritchie in 42 minutes. Penicuik looked the livelier in the second half and Dawson struck a deserved winner on 57 minutes.

NEWTONGRAN­GE STAR picked up a huge three points after their 5-2 win over CAMELON. They didn’t get off to the best of starts when Callum Sheridan fired the Mariners ahead on 15 minutes, but they levelled through Ryan Porteous in 24 minutes. Quick goals in 28 and 32 minutes from Ben Finnan and Tom Davies put Star in control, but Dawson struck again for Camelon in 44 minutes. An own goal in 57 minutes restored Star’s two-goal lead and they were sure of the points when Porteous smacked in a fifth.

GLENROTHES had a big 3-0 win over KINNOULL in Conference B to keep them in touch with the leaders. Lea Schiavone gave them a fourth-minute lead and Kyle Bell made it two in 26 minutes, then Stuart Cargill clinched the points with a third counter in 63 minutes.

In the League Cup, a Dan Nimmo goal gave BROXBURN a half-time lead at COLDSTREAM and, just to make sure, Andy Mair completed a 2-0 victory on 62 minutes.

MUSSELBURG­H were held to a 1-1 draw with HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY and also finished the game with 10 men. Mathu King gave the home side the lead in 13 minutes, but had Jono Mcmanus sent off just before half-time and the Uni side took advantage with an equaliser with four minutes to go.

HADDINGTON moved into pole position in their section with a comfortabl­e 5-0 win over PUMPHERSTO­N. Alassan Jones scored twice in the opening seven minutes and Guy Mcgarry put them in easy street with a third in 18 minutes. Dylan Tait then chipped in with a double in the second half.

DUNBAR UNITED were stretched by STONEYBURN, but Jamie Devlin’s goal after 52 minutes proved to be Dunbar’s winner.
