Tartanarmy faceascramble forfinalstickets

Scotland fans face a World Cup nightmare if they qualify for Qatar.

It has been revealed the Tartan Army will be handed an official allocation of just 2,339 tickets for all three group games, including an Auld Enemy showdown with England.

Steve Clarke’s side face Ukraine at Hampden on June 1 in the muchdelayed Semi-final Play-off, with the winners playing Wales in Cardiff four days later for a place at the Finals.

If they qualify, the Dark Blues would play all three games in Qatar – against the United States, Iran and England – at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan in the tiny Gulf state.

But despite the new arena having a capacity of 50,000, FIFA will only allocate each nation a tiny percentage of the tickets, with the rest going to tickets already sold in the ballot, locals, sponsors and hospitality.

The English FA have told their Travel Club members their official allocation for the three group games, and revealed that they will receive just 2,339 briefs for their last game against either Scotland, Ukraine or Wales.

Of those, 1,785 were in the lowestpriced Category 3 seats, priced at £53 each, with 595 of the £126 Category 2 tickets, and just 100 of the highestpriced seats, available at £168 each.

Scotland Supporters Club would receive the same for their three games if we qualify.

If Scotland were to then get past the group stages of a tournament for the first time in their history, their allocation would rise to a paltry 3,009 for a Last 16 clash.

Scotland fans are already facing the prospect of extortionate accommodation prices at the Finals in November, and have even received an invitation from nearby Iran to host the Tartan Army at much cheaper prices.

However, the major setback for Scottish fans is that Iran is a dry country, and alcohol is strictly banned.
