Refund woes on expired gift card

-

Thomas Stewart is quids-in after Raw Deal helped him get a partial refund on a gift card that he was unable to use during the pandemic and that subsequently expired.

In 2019, he was given a £75 gift card to be used at the Radisson Hotels chain. Stewart, from Montrose, said: “However, as the last two years have been impacted by Covid, I contacted Radisson customer service in regard to the expiry date.

“I was advised that the card would still be valid and it would be honoured, or I could redeem it for a refund.”

Recently, Stewart visited the Radisson website to get a refund. He completed an online form and received a reply asking him to verify his email address.

“I received an email to acknowledge that the refund would be processed within two weeks,” he said. “But weeks later I still hadn’t received anything and further emails I sent bounced back, saying that the address was invalid.”

Feeling like he was going around in circles trying to get answers from the company, Stewart wrote to Raw Deal for advice and support.

We contacted Radisson on his behalf, and the good news is that the company moved quickly to resolve the issue.

Radisson messaged Stewart again asking to confirm his email address – and, after his identity was doublechecked, he soon had a partial refund of £52 credited to his account for the expired gift card.

“We remain at your disposal if further questions occur,” the company added.
