The 1994 film is considered to be one of the greatest movies of all time but, despite being nominated for seven Oscars, it didn’t win a single Academy Award. Not only that, it was a box-office flop on its initial release, grossing $18 million – not even enough to cover its production costs. While Morgan Freeman’s portrayal of Red, right, was iconic, the actors originally in the running for the role included Clint Eastwood, Harrison Ford and Robert Redford.
