Stone me! From Mick and the boys to a gossip with Gloria, it’s been quite a week

-

One of my favourite Rolling Stones songs is Get Off Of My Cloud. I’ve always thought that when the band is in Scotland they should change it to “Hey, Macleod, Get Off Of My Ewe…”

Maybe not!

Last week I managed to catch The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park in London on my trip back to the UK.

It was a real family affair with my sister Elaine, her husband Jim and their son Euan, plus cousin Evie – who saw the Stones in the early ’60s at Glasgow Odeon.

They were simply amazing was her verdict… and they’re even better now!

We’re going through another Stones renaissance, which is incredible for a band who have been kicking around for 60 years. That’s almost twice my age…!

I see Mick Jagger said last week that it’s not been all plain sailing for the band.

“The thing about bands is that, it’s a collection of individuals as a band and they say ‘You’re just like brothers, you’re just like a family’,” he said.

“It’s not like a family at all. “I actually have a brother, I know what it’s like to have a brother and it’s not like being with Keith (Richards) at all.

“It’s friendship, it’s friendship and working together.”

If you can’t be honest after a 60-year working relationship, when can you?

I even bumped into US talk show host Jimmy Fallon who was at the gig too.

He was charming to all his British fans… including me!

We tried to take a selfie but he was obviously a bit confused by it all. He couldn’t understand why other people wanted a selfie with me!

“Are you famous?” he asked. “Not even in my own front room!” I had to admit.

I went from Honky Tonk Woman to Loose Women after the Stones. I had a lovely time with my appearance on the iconic ITV chat show alongside Charlene White, Denise Welch, Gloria Hunniford and Brenda Edwards.

It was fun making my debut on the show, and to catch up with Hunniford, who I did Pebble Mill At One with many years ago, and Welch, who I did a Thai takeaway with when she was over to visit Los Angeles a few weeks ago!

Charlene and Brenda couldn’t have been more welcoming. I said I rarely do interviews as I like asking the questions.

Plus, I rarely get asked!

I was on was to celebrate the launch of my new book trilogy!

Along with the talented Shari Low we bring you not one but three books, and you can preorder them now from that small upstart bookseller Amazon now. The first one, The Rise, will be out in September followed by The Catch in January, then The Fall in May.

It’s a glamorous, twisting thriller set in both Scotland and Hollywood. Is it based on my life? Well last week I was sitting in my semmit watching old Partick Thistle games on VHS, so I’ll leave that for you to decide…
