TBack in the gold old days of Jackie magazine, glam rock and flares, Bus Stop was the place to shop. There were Bus Stop boutiques in Edinburgh and Glasgow which were shopping destinatio­ns for Scotland’s most fashion-savvy young women. Wendy Rigg reveals a new collection by the much-loved brand.

o celebrate the life of the iconic Bus Stop designer, Lee Bender, a new 14-piece collection has been released by sustainabl­e brand Joanie. Before her sad passing on January 11 last year, Lee had worked closely with the Joanie design team to recreate some of her most-loved pieces with a focus on the details that made her clothes so special.

The Bus Stop Joanie collection features dresses and jumpsuits in retro prints. Lee’s designs were popular with celebritie­s of the day – Joan Collins, Joanna Lumley, Marianne Faithful, Pattie Boyd, Angie Bowie and Nina Simone were all fans.

B Corporatio­n certified brand Joanie is the perfect partner for Lee’s gorgeous wearable designs, as both brands take inspiratio­n from nostalgic vintage styles.
