PETERHEAD 0

A goalless draw keeps Stenhousemuir in pole position 15 points ahead with six games remaining.

Both teams fought hard on a bitter day, and it was the visitors who created the better chances, with Stenhousemuir keeper Darren Jamieson having to look smart to save from Conor O’keefe and then to tip over a Hamish Ritchie shot.

Stenhousemuir’s Matty Aitken also had an effort on target, with Bradley Rodden just wide in a frantic early spell.

There was half-chances at either end of the pitch, but the closest effort was when Peter Pawlett headed a O’keefe cross wide.

A double substitution for Stenny saw a change in personnel that almost had the desired effect when Euan O’reilly’s effort was cut out for a corner.

Matty Yates headed wide for the home side in stoppage-time before there was a scare at the other end when Jamieson failed to punch out a corner cleanly, but was eventually able to collect the ball.

EAST FIFE 2 STRANRAER 1

Another slow start from East Fife handed the Blues the lead in the opening exchanges, before James Lyon and Jack Healy both grabbed their first goals of the season to complete the turnaround.

The Stranraer goal came after 10 minutes, when a defensive mix-up led to a deep free-kick sailing in from range. Matthew Grant was the scorer, and his set-piece gave the visitors the lead with a stunning goal.

Fife started the second half much better, though, and, after 10 minutes of the second period, Lyon pulled them level. He tried to tee up Trouten, but fantastic defending saw the ball blocked. It was and cam back right into the path of James Lyon and the creative midfielder bagged his first in Black and Gold.

East Fife could have had a penalty after 70 minutes when Trouten looked to be fouled in the box, but the referee turned a blind eye.

The winner came with five minutes to go as Jack Healy leathered in a fantastic volley into the back of the net.

ELGIN CITY 1 FORFAR 1

Hosts Elgin had wind advantage in the first half, but struggled to create too much in difficult conditions.

Jake Dolzanski’s volley slipped wide for the home team, who then took the lead in spectacular circumstances. Russell Dingwall’s corner fell to left-back Lyall Booth on his weaker right foot, but he swept home from 25 yards for his first goal for the club.
