GALA 27 GLASGOW HAWKs 43

There was more hunger in the Maroons camp after the interval but they were left with too much to do.

However, they were able to salvage a point for hitting the four-try mark.

They earned an eight- try haul, with Currie unable to put up meaningful resistance when it mattered.

Ross Curle sliced through the visiting defence after only 40 seconds and Bova proved to be a hot handful by crossing three times in a remarkable 19-minute spell.

MELROSE slapped down Muir in convincing style at the Greenyards to underline their intentions to figure in the chase for the Championship.
