Stenhousemuir – Mcguigan (23); Arbroath – Wallace (pen 60), Mccord (80) Arbroath showed exactly why they are top of the league as they came from behind to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Stenhousemuir took the lead when Mark Mcguigan took full advantage to tuck the ball into the net following an error by Ricky Little, who had allowed the ball to go under his foot. Arbroath were unlucky when a Michael Mckenna snapshot hit the post in the 38th minute.

Then Graeme Smith denied Ryan Wallace with a superb save to touch the ball round the post.

The keeper was unable to deny Wallace, though, on the hour when he converted from a penalty after Ruaridh Donaldson handled.

The Red Lichties’ pressure then paid off when Ryan Mccord scored the winning goal from the edge of the box.

airdrieonians 1 dumbarton 1

Airdrie – Russell (70); Dumbarton – Spencer (29) Dumbarton controlled the first half and could have grabbed the advantage on seven minutes when Ryan Thomson fired from 10 yards, only to see his effort deflected for a corner.

They did make the breakthrough when on-loan Celtic forward Jack Aitchison held off his marker and squared the ball to Brad Spencer to fire it past keeper David Hutton.

The Diamonds were better after the interval and equalised when sub Cammy Russell raced on to a through ball from defender Scott Robertson and fired the ball in off Grant Adam’s left post.

forfar ath 1 Brechin city 1

Forfar Athletic – Travis (70); Brechin – Hendry (17) Forfar should have taken the lead after 30 seconds when a lovely move opened up Brechin, but Ross Cunningham missed the target from 10 yards out. Moments later, the home side were denied a penalty when John Baird was bundled over in the box.

Instead, Brechin took the lead in the 17th minute when Callum Hendry curled a low shot into the far corner of the net.

In the second half, the Loons were denied an equaliser by City stopper Connor Brennan from Jamie Bain’s flick.

Brennan also produced a brilliant fingertip save to deny Bain again.

The Loons got their reward when Micheal Travis was strong in a crowded box to head a corner from the left down and into the corner of the net.

Bain had a glorious chance to snatch all three points in the 90th minute, but shot straight at the keeper.

raith rovers 1 Montrose 1

Raith – I Campbell (og 58); Montrose – Webster (27) Raith were forced into a goalkeeping change after just six minutes when Kieran Wright suffered an injury as he came for a cross ball and had to be replaced by Robbie Thomson. Graham Webster sought to test the replacement moments later, but his shot drifted wide of the post.

Montrose snatched the lead after 27 minutes when Graham Webster scored at the near post from a corner.

Raith were more direct in the second half and Kevin Nisbet took advantage of some slack play, but shot wide.

It was no surprise when Raith were level when Iain Campbell turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Ross Matthews.

Raith pressed for the winner and Nisbet struck the outside of the post with a fine effort late on.

stranraer 0 east fife 2

Watson (54), Currie (81) Stranraer started brightly and were the width of a post away from opening the scoring in the first five minutes. David Brownlie got on the end of Connor Mcmanus’ corner, but could only bundle the ball against the post.

However, it was the visitors who enjoyed the better chances in the first half and Anton Dowds twice saw goalbound headers blocked on the line.

First, David Smith was in the right place to thump the ball clear, then Max Currie did well to get something on the striker’s downwards header.

The Blues should have done better immediately after the restart, but, after Isaac Layne fired wide, there was only one team who looked likely to score.

Scott Agnew returned to haunt his old club with a perfect free-kick which was fired home at the back post by the lurking Craig Watson.

The Fifers wrapped up the win nine minutes from time through sub Rory Currie, who had just come on. His clever turn in the box saw the ball fired into the roof of the net leaving home goalie namesake Currie with no chance.
