Officer hurt in fracas

A police officer was allegedly assaulted during a disturbance in South Lanarkshire yesterday.

Four people are due in court in connection with the disturbance in Stonehouse with charges ranging from breach of the peace to assaulting a police officer. A 23-year-old man and 21-year-old woman will appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court tomorrow while an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have been charged and released.

The pair will appear in court at a later date.
