HIV on rise in China
China has announced a large rise in the number of its citizens who are living with HIV and Aids.
Officials say the numbers have jumped by 14% in the last year.
More than 820,000 people are affected in the country. About 40,000 new cases were reported in the second quarter of 2018 alone.
The vast majority of new cases were transmitted through sex.
Traditionally, HIV spread rapidly through some parts of China as a result of infected blood transfusions.
