The SPFL are in for an uncomfortable week as the furore over the Betfred Cup semifinals rumbles on. Hearts chief Ann Budge has vowed to fight the decision to play both Rangers-aberdeen and Hearts-celtic ties on the same day.
Local newspapers in Edinburgh and Aberdeen have set up petitions against the move.
And there is mounting pressure on Police Scotland to perform a U-turn as fears of serious unrest refuse to go away.
Last night Budge said: “Clearly, no-one believes this is a good solution.”
