Light Blues boss won’t let Sadiq go

-

Steven Gerrard says there’s no prospect of sending flop striker Umar Sadiq back to Roma in January.

The 21-year-old has only had 26 minutes of action since joining Rangers on a seasonlong loan.

The Light Blues manager has spoken of his disappointment at Sadiq’s performances and challenged him to prove he is worthy of a place in the team.

Asked if he could be sent back to his parent club, Gerrard said: “It’s not something that we’ve thought about, and it’s not something we’d try and do.

“What we want is the real, aggressive Sadiq. That’s we’ve paid for, that’s what we’ve asked for, that’s what we’ve got in.

“This is me trying a different way to get it out of him because I’ve tried other ways.”
