Two goals in the space of two minutes saw CUMBERNAUL­D COLTS move up to third spot in the league after their 2-0 win over basement side WHITEHILL WELFARE. In the 20th minute, Welfare’s Sean Lally cleared off his own line from a Stephen O’neil shot and keeper Ross Jardine also thwarted the Colts attack with two fine saves on the half-hour mark. But, 11 minutes into the second half, Greg Pascazio got on the end of a Stephen O’neill corner and headed strongly into the net for the opener. Two minutes later, as Welfare tried to get back into the game, Colts broke away and Sean Brown slotted the ball past keeper Pedram Ardalani for the second goal.

GALA FAIRYDEAN got 3-0 win over EAST STIRLINGSH­IRE, whose losing run continues. Ruari Paton, who is on loan from Hibs, gave the Fairies 1-0 interval lead and then disaster struck Shire in the 64th minute when Graeme Macgregor scored an own goal. Ricky Miller sealed the points 10 minutes later when he headed in No. 3. But, in the dying seconds of the match, Connolly snatched victory and three valuable points which lifts them up a place to third from bottom. STIRLING UNI and VALE OF LEITHEN shared the points in a 2-2 draw after Rory Macewan had put the Uni side had after only eight minutes. But Vale came back in the 22nd minute and Sean Stewart fired in the equaliser. Seven minutes later, David Bonnar put them ahead for the first time. But it only lasted until six minutes after the turn when Stirling’s Ross Gilpin put through his own goal.
