Dear June

This last year has been one of the worst years for my family.

My parents were involved in a car accident and we are still awaiting a court date. My 82-year-old dad passed away two weeks after the accident as his Injuries were too severe and his heart could not take the trauma.

My 78-year-old mum sustained a fractured pelvis and broken ribs but is gradually recovering.

Our hearts are broken about losing dad, especially mum’s. Please could you let us know if he is with my grandparents (his mum and dad)?

Karen, Belfast.

June Says

I can totally understand the emotional devastation your family must be going through caused by this unfortunate accident. As I sat reading your letter, I could hear a male voice singing “The Day Thou Gavest” quite clearly. This hymn must have some meaning/significance?

I do not feel that your dad kept the best of health before the accident as I sense he had breathing difficulties caused by ongoing heart problems? I sense your family to be very close as I know you have all rallied round taking turns to look after your mum and one another.

I sense a calmness about your dad as he draws close which would have been synonymous with his character.

I am being shown an unframed picture that looks unfinished? Did your dad enjoy painting as a hobby? Outdoor country scenes? Your dad makes me feel that he has remained close to your mum and she has been aware of him on a few occasions. He is trying to let her know he is alright. I am also being shown boxes connected to a house move and that you have your dad’s blessing in regards to this. Is the family home being sold?

I can hear the name Jack being called and can see two gentlemen standing together. I feel the other gentleman is your dad’s dad and that he was there to meet him. He wants you to know that he is safe and remains very close to you all.

VERDICT

Dad’s health was not the best before he passed. “The Day Thou Gavest” was played at one of dad’s services.

Dad liked to paint and had the patience and temperament for it. There are a few unfinished pictures of country scenes.

Mum has been aware of him around her. My grandfather was named John but people called him Jack. He and dad were close as his mum passed away when he was quite young.

The family home is in the process of being sold and mum will be moving closer to us.
