Santiago Solari’s first Laliga game in charge of REAL MADRID ended in victory after two late goals earned a 2-0 success over REAL VALLADOLID.

Solari (below), in temporary charge after the sacking of Julen Lopetegui, looked like enduring a frustrating afternoon at the Bernabeu until a Kiko own goal broke the deadlock seven minutes from time. Captain Sergio Ramos wrapped up the three points from the penalty spot in the 88th minute after Fernando Calero brought down Karim Benzema. Second-placed ATLETICO MADRID had to settle for a point after conceding a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at lowly LEGANES.

A superb free-kick from Antoine Griezmann put Atletico ahead in the 69th minute at Butarque.

But Diego Simeone’s side were pegged back with eight minutes remaining when Southampton loanee Guido Carrillo tapped in from close range after Rodri Tarin’s effort came back off the crossbar.

In the late game, leaders BARCELONA won 3-2 draw at RAYO VALLECANO with a last-minute Luis Suarez goal – his second of the game. Ousmane Dembele had levelled in the 87th minute after Barca trailed 2-1 for half-an-hour. BORUSSIA DORTMUND remain unbeaten at the top of the Bundesliga after winning 1-0 at WOLFSBURG.

Marco Reus headed the only goal of the game after 27 minutes. English teenage winger Jadon Sancho provided the cross.

The win moved Dortmund four points clear of second-placed BAYERN MUNICH, after they could only draw 1-1 at home to FREIBURG.

LEIPZIG regained third spot in the table after a 2-0 victory at HERTHA BERLIN. Timo Werner scored twice before Matheus Cunha added another goal late on.
