DIED MARCH 16, 1918

The Royal Flying Corp pilot, who flew missions at the Somme, died in a test flight crash near Winchester.

A nurse wrote to his parents: “His was a beautiful face, and I am sure he was good and true and knightly.” Jean Hamilton wrote: “Now Teddie has gone too, Little Ben as his brothers called him, and his mother’s ‘Honey Bee’, for he was all sweetness to her.”
