If you want to fill the house with the fresh scent of Paperwhite narcissi this Christmas, then plant your bulbs this week.

They don’t need to be kept cold or dark, a warm bright spot will bring them on best.

Plant the bulbs close to the surface of the compost and keep them damp, but not waterlogged.
