Our salute to good, old-fashioned fun
While electronic media dominates our kids’ and grandchildren’s lives, it’s good to see more traditional forms of entertainment still going strong. Sunday Post readers, of course, know that Oor Wullie is a national treasure. Now his appeal will be enjoyed by a new generation especially with the advent of Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail. And then there is Commando, which is now enjoying a resurgence with the publication of its first graphic novel.
Be it cartoon strips or books, there remains something truly special about absorbing stories in a physical format.
It can be relaxing. It can also fire kids’ imaginations and creativity especially when enjoyed with their pals, brothers or sisters.
And, let’s face it, any time away from their phone has to be welcomed, doesn’t it?
