Christmas partygoers expect to spend £49 on average to look and feel good when they go out during the festive season, a survey by deals website Groupon found.

New outfits, hairdresser visits, beauty treatments and extra trips to the gym make up the typical total spend.

With Christmas parties for work, family and friends, nearly a quarter (22%) of people surveyed said they attend three to four parties.
