-

Fraserburgh 1 Cove 0

Fraserburgh ended Cove Rangers 100% record in the eague thanks to a goal after just 32 seconds.

The visiting defence didn’t switch on quickly enough when Ryan Cowie struck a long ball upfield from the left, but the pacy Scott Barbour raced in to slot the ball past Stuart Mckenzie from eight yards out.

Things could have got worse for the league leaders in the 24th minute when Alan Redford brought down the quicksilver Barbour in the box. Paul Campbell stepped up to take the spot-kick, but was denied by the feet of Mckenzie.

Cove’s Blair Yule picked up a second yellow in the 67th minute and visiting boss John Sheran was sent to the stand late on.

rothes 3 strathspey 4

Steven Anderson put Rothes in front early on with a low shot, but Craig Macmillan levelled when he took advantage of a rebound to net.

A swift counter-attack culminated in Scott Davidson firing into the corner of the net from the edge of the box to give the home side a half-time lead.

The Jags levelled for a second time when James Fraser stuck out a leg to nick the ball beyond the goalkeeper in the 70th minute. The game then swung Rothes’ way once more, Ally Sutherland’s 25-yard shot going over the head of Michael Mccallum. Strathspey came back once more when Craig Mainland volleyed home a cross.

With just seconds left of normal time, James Fraser turned home the winner to spark wild celebrations in front of the visitors dugout that led to two subs being cautioned.

Brora 4 Forres 0

Brora went ahead in the ninth minute, with player-manager Steve Mackay placing the ball home against his former team.

“Sid” then netted his 200th goal for the Dudgeon Park side in the 71st minute. Dale Gillespie’s first of the afternoon was sandwiched in between those two, and he completed a brace of his own with a goal in the dying stages.

BUCKIE 4 Fort william 0

Buckie were given a helping hand early on, with Lewis Campbell nodding Ally Mackenzie’s cross past Finlay Burstow, the trialist goalie.

It was 2-0 inside 20 mintues when Declan Milne fired the ball past Burstow from 18 yards.

The Jags unlocked the Fort defence twice more before the break. Milne and Steven Ross both ended up placing the ball into the goal after fine moves cut through the visitors’ backline.

Fort kept the Jags at bay in an uninspiring second half.

Huntly 0 Inverurie 4

With nine minutes gone, Josh Bolton got by Ryan Mcritchie and saw his initial shot blocked by Euan Storrier before reacting quick to the rebound to slot home. Huntly were reduced to 10 men after 27 minutes when Gary Mcgowan lashed out at Neil Mclean.

Locos netted two goals in a sixminute spell at the end of the first half. Jamie Michie’s free-kick struck the bar in 39 minutes and full-back Christopher Herd headed home the rebound. Then Neil Mclean got forward to make it three with a low shot.

Huntly had assistant manager Richard Cheyne sent off at the interval following an altercation with Neil Mclean.

The scoring was wrapped up in the 55th minute when a long punt upfield ended with teenager Bolton adding his second.

NAIRN 0 Deveronvale 1

The nearest to a goal in the first half came for the visitors in 15 minutes when Robert Scott’s low drive flashed just passed the post. County’s Ewen Urquhart sent in an inviting ball across the six-yard box, but there were no takers, while, at the other end, James Kendall parried a Matthew Wallace pile-driver.

The visitors broke the deadlock a minute after the restart when Scott got on the end of a Jody Munro cross at the back post to rifle home.

The goal gave the visitors a huge lift and Harry Noble might have done better than volley over when just a few yards out.

In added time, County’s Adam Porritt was shown a straight red card for a lunging challenge on Wallace.

turriff 2 Formartine 3

Formartine came out of the traps at breakneck pace and a thunderous effort from Garry Wood crashed off a post.

On six minutes, Stuart Smith’s shot was saved by Fraser Hobday, but the ball broke to Jevan Anderson, who found the corner.

Turriff settled into the game and in 28 minutes they were awarded a penalty. Stuart Taylor brought down by Paul Lawson and Michael Ewen sent his shot low into Kevin Main’s left corner.

On 80 minutes, the mercurial Conor Gethins scored one of the goals of the season with a 35-yard dipper over the head of Hobday.

Turriff levelled again four minutes later with centre-half James Chalmers heading home.

Within a minute, though, Gethins scored again for the winner from close range after good work by Graeme Rodger.

KEITH 3 CLACHNACUDDIN 0

Keith were given the perfect start when veteran goalgrabber Cammy Keith showed his eye for a goal is as sharp as ever with a well-taken shot in the ninth minute.

In the 59th minute, Keith were awarded a soft penalty and Keith duly hit it to the keeper’s right to net his second.

The points were secured with 20 minutes remaining when a Keith counter-attack was rounded off by James Brownie.

lossiemouth 0 WICK ac 3

There was very little between the sides in the opening hour, but Wick got their noses in front in the 69th minute when Danny Mackay fired home from six yards out. Ross Allan came off the bench and he provided a two-goal cushion with a low 12-yarder. Craig Gunn put the icing on the cake late on when he netted a close-range rebound.
