MONTROSE ROSELEA are still four points clear at the top of the Super League, thanks to a double from Hester either side of half-time in their 2-1 home win over MAUD. Smart replied for the visitors, who remain bottom.

BANKS O’ DEE squeezed past NAIRN ST NINIAN 3-2 to stay in touch with the leaders. Two goals in three minutes from Jack Henerson and Jamie Buglass put Dee two up at the break, only for Saints to hit back and draw level with strikes from Lee Haines and Keith Mason. Alan White won it for the home side with a late freekick after Nairn keeper Fraser Wilkie had been sent off.

BRIDGE OF DON THISTLE are up to third place after a 3-1 home win over CULTER at the Sports Village.

EAST END were beaten 4-2 at home by DUFFTOWN.

James Bain scored twice for ELLON UNITED in their 2-2 draw at DYCE JUNIORS, who replied through Mark Bartlett and Ian Leith.

HALL RUSSELL are just two points behind Ellon in eighth after Hardie notched a double in their home 2-2 draw with STONEHAVEN. The point moves The Hive two points clear of Maud at the bottom. HERMES climbed up to ninth place with a crucial 3-1 win at COLONY PARK in Inverurie. Dawson, Mckechnie and a Mcrae penalty were on target for the visitors.

In the First Division, SUNNYBANK won 2-1 at FORRES THISTLE to close the gap on Stoneywood Parkvale at the top to just two points. Marty Davidson netted for Forres, who are now five points adrift at the foot of the table. Goals from Connor Kelly and Eddie Fuller won it for Bank. BURGHEAD THISTLE are up to sixth, above BUCKIE ROVERS, after putting six past their Moray rivals at Merson Park. Jamie Davidson, Stephen Mckenzie, Doug Wood, Kyle Stewart, Ryan Mcbean and Cameron More scored for the visitors.

NEW ELGIN moved eight points clear of CRUDEN BAY at the bottom of the Second Division after going nap (5-1) against Bay at Pinefield. Ryan Mcpherson, David Mcnamara, Dean Stewart and a Jordan Mcbain double did the damage for the Elgin men.

SPEY VALLEY UNITED closed the gap on WHITEHILLS by beating them 2-1 in Grantown. Ross Gibb’s goal wasn’t enough for Hills, who remain seven points behind Islavale in fourth place. BUCHANHAVE­N HEARTS came from two goals down to win 4-3 and go through to the third round of the Domino’s Pizza North Regional Cup against DEVERONSID­E, thanks to goals from Ross Walker, Joel Murray, Curtis Kane and Jamie Masson. Side replied through Joel Watt, Jordan Russell and Ewan Clark.
