Salon staff robbed by men armed with tasers

-

Two men armed with taser guns robbed a hair salon in a busy shopping area of Glasgow on Friday.

Four female members of staff were in Contour Hairdressers in Main Street, Baillieston, when the men burst in around 4.45pm and threatened them, demanding money.

They stole several mobile phones and a staff member’s handbag, before running off along Main Street.

Detectives said the women were left very distressed but otherwise uninjured. Police are now studying CCTV and have appealed for witnesses.

The first suspect is described as white, slim, gaunt with several teeth missing and in his late 30s, early 40s, around 5ft 5in tall. He was wearing a dark, hooded top and navy tracksuit trousers.

The second suspect is white, in his late 30s, around 5ft 5in tall. He was wearing a dark top and dark trousers. He also had a gaunt appearance. Both suspects were wearing gloves. Constable Holly Canning said: “It’s clear the men’s intention was to steal the shop’s takings.

“I would appeal to people who were in Main Street around the time of the incident to come forward. “I know people were out and about and I’m sure the two men will have been noticed as they left the shop.”
