An elderly Scot who has never set foot outside Scotland has celebrated her 100th birthday last week. Mary Norris was born just days after the end of the First World War. She’s the last surviving sibling of 10 and loves trips out to church and garden centres – but has never ventured abroad.

Perhaps that’s the secret of feeling young?
