Red Bull Salzburg battle back to grab a point

- By Mark Walker sport@sundaypost.com

Red Bull Salzburg boss Marco Rose has revealed he will take a full squad to Celtic this week because he’s desperate to maintain their 100% Europa League record.

And he’s warned there’s no chance of them easing up in Glasgow, after they came perilously close to blowing this season’s 28-game unbeaten run in all competitions yesterday when they scrambled a 2-2 draw at Austrian Bundesliga bottom side Admira Wacker, with goals from Israeli Moanes Dabour and youngster Hannes Wolf.

The Hoops need just a point on Thursday in Glasgow to go through to the next stage of the Europa League after excellent wins against RB Leipzig and Rosenborg.

Manager Rose insists there’s no chance of them resting players for the trip to Scotland.

He said: “I will play my strongest team possible. Certainly, no one will be rested for the game in Glasgow. “We go to Scotland to win.

“Of course, we want to enjoy the famous atmosphere, but we want to protect our record and get 18 points out of 18.

“But we want to win and if possible win in some style. My aim is to be a part of a good football game which sees us win, of course.”

And Rose refused to slam his players for their lacklustre display yesterday.

He pointed out: “It happens in football. You cannot be brilliant every single week. Now we will regroup and go to Glasgow full of confidence.”

Red Bull are still 14 points clear of second placed LASK after just 17 games in the league.
