Robert Lewandowski’s first-half brace inspired BAYERN MUNICH to a 3-0 Bavarian derby win over NURNBERG, but they remain nine points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

The Poland striker (below) opened the scoring in the ninth minute when he met a corner from Joshua Kimmich and he doubled his account after Leon Goretzka’s strike had come back off the post.

Franck Ribery netted No. 3 after a Serge Gnabry shot had been saved. Pacesetters BORUSSIA DORMUND claimed a 2-1 victory over SCHALKE in a highly-contested Ruhr derby thanks to a clever winner from England international Jadon Sancho. Sancho’s 74th-minute goal proved the decisive moment as the 18-yearold cut in from the left and shot past goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann. Dortmund, who now have a nine-point lead at the top of the table, had drawn first blood through Thomas Delaney before an intervention by the video assistant referee saw Schalke awarded a penalty, with Daniel Caligiuri equalising from the spot with just over halfan-hour to go. NAPOLI occupy second place in Serie A after a 4-0 home win over FROSINONE. An early Piotr Zielinski goal and Adam Ounas’ 40th-minute counter had the hosts 2-0 up at the break, with Arkadiusz Milik’s secondhalf double cementing the points.

Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez had La Liga leaders BARCELONA 3-0 up at the interval at ESPANYOL. Messi made it 4-0 on 65 minutes.
