BANKS O’ DEE closed the gap at the top of the North Super League to just one point with a comprehens­ive 4-1 win over leaders MONTROSE ROSELEA at Spain Park. Jamie Buglass hit a hattrick, with Nikolai Jensen also on target. Archer replied for Montrose.

BRIDGE OF DON THISTLE are just two points further back in third after a thumping 6-0 win at EAST END, just ahead of Culter on goal difference.

CULTER also picked up three points at home to HERMES, winning 4-1, with goals from Keith Horne, a Callum Dunbar double and Elliot Duff.

NAIRN SAINT NINIAN are up to fifth after edging out ELLON UNITED in a seven-goal thriller at The Showfield. Gavin Chisholm, a double from Matthew Grant and Adam Macleod were on target for the home side, with Ellon replying through an Irvine brace and Mcdonald.

DUFFTOWN and HALL RUSSELL shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Westburn Park, with Clark on target for the Moray men and keeper Mcintosh saving a first half United penalty. DYCE are four points clear of basement boys STONEHAVEN after beating them 2-0 at Ian Mair Park, thanks to goals from Adam Morrison and Mark Bartlet.

MAUD are off the bottom after a vital 1-0 win over fellow-strugglers COLONY PARK, the winner coming from a late Grant Thomson free-kick.

In the First Division, DEVERONSID­E are up to third place, just three points behind leaders Stoneywood Parkvale, after winning 3-1 at FORRES THISTLE. Jordan Russell, John Mcleay and Nathan Ross were on target for Side, with Matty Davidson replying for the Jags.

BURGHEAD THISTLE were edged out 2-1 at SUNNYBANK, Cameron More’s strike not proving enough for the Moray men in the end.

ISLAVALE have slipped five points behind league leaders Glentanar in Division Two after losing 3-2 at NEWMACHAR. Kyle Harker notched a first-half double for the home side and Calum Morrison added a third in the second half. Gary Morrison and David Clark were on target for Vale, who also had Bruce Morrison and Craig Sim sent off in the last 15 minutes.

WHITEHILLS remain in fifth after going down 6-2 to BUCHANHAVE­N HEARTS. Scott Mcleod, Jamie Masson and doubles from Ross Walker and Curtis Kane did the damage for the visitors. Shaun Gair and Kian Beaton netted for Hills.

SPEY VALLEY lost 6-1 at leaders GLENTANAR.

NEW ELGIN lost 2-1 at home to ABERDEEN UNIVERSITY. Jordan Mcbain scored for the hosts.

In the East, CARNOUSTIE beat ARBROATH VICS 7-1. Pat Martin scored in 10 minutes and Ryan Dignan made it 2-0. Martin and Jamie Winter then added another two before Martin completed his hat-trick before the break. Hardie pulled one back for Vics a minute from the break, but Michael Cruikshank and Harvey Dailly added to the Gowfers’ tally.
