Star: Bafta was nice
Actress Shauna Macdonald has told of her delight at winning a Scottish Bafta for her role in a futuristic horror-thriller. Macdonald, 37, from Edinburgh, plays Elle Chrysler in White Chamber which is set in a dystopian near-future, described as “Post-brexit, Post-trump, Post-mortem”.
The film won plaudits at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival and has featured at several other festivals, including London’s Frightfest.
Macdonald’s character is leader of a team of scientists developing a drug for soldiers to win a civil war. Macdonald said: “I know it doesn’t mean I’m better than everyone else, but it was nice.”
