Formartine united 3 Deveronvale 0

Formartine defeated Deveronvale for the second time in quick succession thanks to three second-half goals at a windswept Pitmedden.

The home team dominated the opening 45 minutes, but were unable to make the breakthrough. Garry Wood and Graeme Rodger went close and it took a dramatic last-gasp clearance from Michael Dunn to deny Wood after Grant Pennet made the initial save.

Deveronvale started the second half positively, but the killer moment arrived 10 minutes into the second half with Matt Northcroft awarding a penalty that was slotted away by Andrew Greig.

United added doubled their advantage on 65 minutes when Garry Wood set up Archie Macphee.

Sixteen minutes from time, Graeme Rodger got the goal his attacking running deserved to complete the win.

The Coasters took the lead when Ryan Stuart netted from close range.

Forres dragged themselves back into the game when Stuart Soane ran in to beat Fraser Dear. Soane then somehow blasted over from two yards just moments before half time.

The outcome of the match turned on a 60-second spell. In the 63rd minute, Brodie Allan’s near-post flick came back off the inside of the upright with Stuart Knight beaten before Forres cobbled together a clearance. Moments later, they were on the counter-attack and Andy Macrae drilled a 16-yard shot off the inside of the near post.

Late on, Soane’s blasted cross bounced back off Aaron Hamilton into the net.

Soane then added his second with a sidefooted finish from Liam Taylor’s cross to make the scoreline more convincing.

Thomas Reid fed in Angus for his fourth, and the former Buckie Thistle man completed a personal high five to leave the Locos in seventh heaven.
