Regrets about party’s silence

-

Former Irish prime minister John Bruton has described Sinn Fein’s failure to voice concerns in Parliament over Brexit as a “tragedy”.

Mr Bruton said Sinn Fein’s refusal to take its seven seats in Westminster meant the voice of Irish nationalists was missing from the debate.

He said: “I think it’s a great shame, it’s a tragedy.”
