Flood wall vandalised

Oban’s new flood barrier has been left “useless” after being attacked by vandals.

A section of the interlocking barrier next to the Black Lynn burn was removed, leaving a gap in the defence system. A member of the public who reported the damage said the attack had left the barrier useless.

An Argyll and Bute council spokesman said: “That people would deliberately pull up a barrier put there for flood protection is shameful.”
