Champions Cove Rangers ground their way to a narrow victory with yet another clean sheet.

The home side went close in 12 minutes when a Hamish Macleod corner was met at the back post by the head of Harry Milne, but Andy Reid made a fine block.

In 35 minutes, Mitch Megginson cut inside on to his left foot, but his low was held by Reid.

In the second half, Harry Milne went close with a header at the back post, Reid again saving well.

In-form Reid did well to turn away a Daniel Park free-kick which curled round a wall. It was a similar story of Milne meeting a corner, and this time Reid acrobatically tipped over.

The breakthrough came in 80 minutes when Milne crossed and the ball sat up perfectly for Megginson to knock in.

BRORA 2 HUNTLY 0

Brora took the lead in the 25th minute when player-manager Steven Mackay laid the ball off on the onrushing Alistair Macdonald who fired high into the net from just inside the box.

Three minutes after the interval, Alexander Sutherland’s corner went deep into the back post and his delivery was met by Mark Nicolson and his header found the net with the aid of a deflection.

CLACHNACUDDIN 1 WICK 3

Clach took the lead in the 10th minute with Ally Gillies firing a shot from outside the area low into the bottom right hand corner of Sean Mccarthy’s goal. Wick turned the game around in a seven-minute spell either side of the hour.

Michael Steven forced the ball home from six yards, while Jack Halliday’s strike was also from a similar range after he had left two defenders in his wake before applying the finish.

The killer third was the pick of the bunch. Gordie Macnab waltzed his way past three opponents before firing his shot past Ryan Macleod from 18 yards.

FRASERBURGH 4 DEVERONVALE 1

On 15 minutes, Ryan Sargent’s left-footed cross found it’s way to the six-yard box, where Scott Barbour was on hand to place it into the bottom corner.

Two minutes later, Barbour collected a pass from Paul Campbell and slotted home a second with his left foot. Campbell claimed his second assist 10 minutes later when Sargent prodded Fraserburgh into a three-goal lead.

Any hopes of a fightback were killed off when Michael Dunn picked up a second yellow card.

Nevertheless, they gained a consolation strike in the 85th minute with Ross Aitken capitalising on Kyle Gauld’s incisive through-ball.

This sparked a response from Fraserburgh, with defender Bryan Hay nodding home a fourth from Ryan Cowie’s corner.

KEITH 2 turriff united 2

Keith had the best opening chance of the game on nine minutes as a Cammy Keith effort was saved by Fraser Hobday.

Turriff took the lead on 36 minutes after Macaulay Rae handled inside the area, and up stepped Angus Grant to slot his penalty down the middle past Greg Simpson.

On 58 minutes, Keith levelled when a fantastic through ball by James Brownie found Cammy Keith and the talisman beautifully lobbed Fraser Hobday to level.

Turriff reaped the rewards for their pressure on 82 minutes when they took the lead, Liam Strachan went past two Keith defenders before releasing Keir Smith, who tapped home.

The points looked to be heading back to Turriff until Cammy Keith turned his marker before a hammering beyond Hobday.

STRATHSPEY 5 FORT WILLIAM 1

A foray down the left led to Scott Lisle cutting the ball back for Ross Naismith to slot home the opening goal.

James Fraser added his name to the scoresheet with a back-post header following a cross from the right, and the points were effectively sealed with just a quarter of the game gone when Naismith headed in his second.

Fraser then drilled home the fourth, but there was some surprise when the first goal of the second half went to Fort, Jordan Morrison sliding the ball under the keeper.

The four-goal margin was restored from a penalty, Naismith claiming his hat-trick.

Fort ended the game with 10 men as Sean Grant collected a second yellow late on.

ROTHES 6 NAIRN COUNTY 1

Rothes made the breakthrough on 40 minutes when Alasdair Sutherland netted from distance.

Jaime Wilson’s header for No. 2 went in from point-blank range. The Wee County gained hope early in the second half when Cohen Ramsay’s free-kick beat the bewildered Robert Donaldson. An own goal from Glenn Main minutes later restored the home team’s two-goal lead, and former County striker Gary Kerr turned home the fourth.

Bruce Milne scored his annual goal before Wilson rounded off the scoring.

FORRES 0 FORMARTINE 1

After having an early Gary Wood goal chalked off for offside position, the visitors made a legitimate breakthrough three minutes later, Archie Macphee calmly slotted the ball past Stuart Knight from 15 yards.

Despite having 84 minutes to find a leveller, the Can Cans were unable to breakdown a resolute Formartine back-line.

Former Dons skipper Russell Anderson was sent to the stand midway through the second half as he overstepped the mark with his comments.

BUCKIE THISTLE 0 LOSSIE 0

The first period ended goalless, but Lossie came out for the second half with some impetus and created a flurry of chances.

Brodie Allen was foiled when put through on the keeper then Ross Archibald passed up a good chance.

Ryan Sewell fired a shot past Lee Herbert only to see it bounce back down off the bar and out, with Scott Campbell also hitting the frame of the goal with the follow up.

The Jags nearly found a winner halfway through the second half when Sam Robertson hit the post.
