Montrose 0 east Fife 2 Two first-half goals from Liam Watt gave East Fife all three points at Montrose. The win maintains the Methil side’s grip on third place in League 1 and takes them to within four points of second-top Raith.

Montrose had the first chance early on when Craig Johnston broke away, but his shot was just kept out by Brett Long.

In 17 minutes, Sean Dillon presented the ball to Anton Dowds, but the striker put the ball wide of the post.

In 25 minutes, strong play by Dowds saw the ball break to Watt, and he curled a shot high into the net.

In 40 minutes, Montrose gave the ball away and Ross Davidson passed for Watt to notch his second.

In 55 minutes, Chris Antoniazzi wriggled past three opponents and his curling effort was saved by Long.

On the hour, Jamie Redman’s header was cleared off the line by Davidson.
