The roll-on/roll-off crosschannel ferry MS Herald Of Free Enterprise capsized after leaving the Belgian port of Zeebrugge, killing 193 passengers and crew. The boat began taking in water almost immediately, and it capsized in just under two minutes. It was later discovered that the crew had failed to shut the bow doors properly.
