Dunfermline beat Aberdeen 6-3 at Pittodrie in the third round of the Scottish Cup. Scorers for the Pars were Alex Smith, Harry Melrose, Charlie Dickson, Tommy Mcdonald, George Miller (above) and an own goal by Doug Fraser. Motherwell and Rangers drew 2-2 at Fir Park. The home side came back from two goals down thanks to strikes by Ian St John and Bert Mccann.

Stevie Chalmers put Celtic ahead at Raith Rovers after seven minutes as the Hoops went on to claim a 4-1 win.
