Garden of the week
Logan Botanic Garden opens on March 1, giving locals on the Mull of Galloway the chance to enjoy the palms and tree ferns that make Logan Scotland’s most tropical garden.
The collection includes species from Australia, Central America and South Africa that thrive in the mild conditions created by the Gulf Stream and visitors can walk through glades of eucalyptus, stand beneath the leaves of giant gunnera and enjoy the tender exotics growing in the conservatory, which is heated without fossil fuel.
