Hillwalker rescued

A hillwalker was airlifted to safety after getting stuck on a Skye mountain.

The hiker was winched aboard Stornoway Coastguard’s search and rescue helicopter after becoming cragfast while descending the north-west side of 2,415ft Marsco in the Red Hills.

Five members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team were also put on standby.

A spokesperson for the Skye team said: “It was another impressive flying display from the Stornoway crew.”
