Iran poses new threat

Iran has begun mechanical tests on an advanced nuclear centrifuge as the five world powers that remain in a foundering 2015 deal attempt to bring the US back into the agreement.

Iran’s IR-9 centrifuge, when operational, would have the ability to enrich uranium at a faster pace.

Talks in Vienna aimed at bringing the US back into the deal with Iran broke up on Friday without any immediate signs of progress on issues that have been dividing Washington and Tehran.
