The action ramped up on Line Of Duty last week with baby-faced assassin PC Pilkington trying to kill poor Terry with a quick dip in a lake. Boo!

Jed Mercurio’s cop thriller is probably at its strongest mid-series when the questions really start piling up.

Was the murdered journalist talking to the corrupt lawyer from series four on her podcast? Why don’t I believe Kate really left AC-12? How come the criminals sent Pilkington into the police force but didn’t bother to change his name?

There’s lots of other television on but I’m interested in one thing and one thing only. And that’s bent coppers...
